Hirslanden to co-operate with the International Medical Center (IMC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
This agreement marks the first time that Hirslanden is joining a foreign hospital in co-operation of this nature. The IMC, a multidisciplinary hospital with 300 beds, is the leading hospital in the economically aspiring city of Jeddah. The IMC was one of the first institutions in the region to be awarded recognised accreditation to the certification standards of the Joint Commission International.
The collaboration will give patients in Saudi Arabia access to the Hirslanden network, thus filling important gaps in the medical care provided in the kingdom. The co-operation includes the referral of patients to Hirslanden, the exchange of doctors, and the transfer of knowledge at various levels of care, medicine and administration. Interested Hirslanden doctors can take part in this exchange programme and pass on their experience and knowledge to the IMC or invite colleagues from Jeddah to Switzerland. A specific timetable is being drawn up.
Hirslanden has found an ideal partner in the IMC. Both institutions are guided by the same corporate principles, share the same values, and are characterised by high quality and efficiency.
Dr Walid Fitaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the International Medical Center, and Dr Ole Wiesinger, CEO of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group, are looking forward to many years of mutually beneficial and successful co-operation.
